Thank you!

After Daddy changed her diaper, Little Nina fussed and fussed. Then, he flipped her onto her tummy... and she was out like a light! Here you can see her sleeping on her little UV pad, and with the little blinders on it kinda looks like she's at a tanning salon, right?

Many of you are asking (and BLESS YOU for doing so) about how Nina's mom and dad are doing. Well, all things considered, we feel like we're doing pretty well. Thanks to the generosity of family and friends, we have a comfortable place to stay near the hospital, and even a friend's car to drive ourselves back and forth.

We've just learned that we might (fingers crossed!) be able to move into the Ronald McDonald House in about two days, which is just a few blocks from the hospital! This would be great, because the RM House is something like $10 a night, is stocked with free food, and provides other great services (like a free shuttle to and from the hospital).

How long will we be here in Vermont? Again, we don't really know. It mainly depends on Nina and how she progresses. She could stay here as long as 10 weeks. Actually, since the quality of care here in Burlington is so high, we're in no rush to bring her back to New York. Dawning will be here as long as it takes, and we're working on figuring out how to keep Brian here as much as possible.

THANKS AGAIN to all who have already helped us, and to those who are everyday reaching out to help. We will never forget your generosity. For those who want to visit, don't hesitate to come on up. Remember that we might be here a while, so there's no rush - come when you can. Everything makes a difference - from just helping to bring us meals to providing moral support. For those of you who cannot come, we REALLY appreciate your emails, texts, prayers, and messages of support. THANK YOU for keeping us in your thoughts.

It sure seems like Nina is receiving your positive vibes!

  2. Thanks, Karen!

You probably can't stay at the RM House, but we have a few friends who have offered to put up folks who come into town to help. So don't worry, you're set! See you soon. Love, Brian
